The Matrix view is the new and exciting feature of Sonar.
You can trigger MIDI and audio loops.
I think the Matrix view has some similarity with Ableton Live kind of sequencing environment.

You can simply drag and drop any audio and MIDI loops in the matrix cell. Then you can trigger the playback for the entire column or row.

After arranging the cells accordingly, you can record the sequence while playback by altering the triggers.

This will be very useful for mixing artist, especially in the dance and trance genre.

I am getting a feeling that Sonar is going to dominate the computer music sequencing world.
More to come!

I am clear on what the Matrix does. However, I am trying to arrange permanent tools to be keyed by my
controller for sounds I need to have on hand for all projects, not just the single project. I need to spend less time setting things up in Sonar and more time recording. If I could create useful samples in the Matrix and save the Matrix as a file or Templet I would have a basket of tools for use in all future projects.
Thus far, the Matrix seems tied to the project you originally set it up in. No point spending alot of time
loading it up. Outside that one project, the Matrix is once again empty.
