Composing audio & music track for video clip in Cakewalk Sonar

Robin Kelly from Cakewalk gave an interesting demonstration of Sonar 8 during AES 2008.
In this 9 minutes video, Robin demonstrated how he compose a musical piece for a video clip.

Several things that he showed:

  • using the Dimension Pro to play a percussion loop
  • using the Session Drummer to play a drum loop
  • using the Loop Explorer

Quick tips:

  • Press “F” key to fit all tracks within the screen
  • Press “CTRL” and drag a clip to duplicate it
